The Matango Gold Project

Matango–Kerende Gold Cluster — A Scalable Near-Mine Exploration Corridor
The Matango Gold Project is located approximately 12 kilometres from Kerende Gold, creating a highly prospective exploration corridor within the Musoma Greenstone Belt. The close proximity of the two assets establishes a natural geological cluster, enabling shared structural interpretation, coordinated exploration workflows, and future operational synergies.
Matango covers approximately 16 square kilometres, while Kerende Gold comprises 42 hectares fully licensed for gold extraction, with an additional 120 hectares under Memorandum of Understanding for pre-rights acquisition through concession agreements with three separate parties. Together, this land position provides a scalable near-mine development platform with clear potential for southward geological integration.
Gold mineralization across this belt is controlled by a complex interaction between regional structure and host lithology, occurring along a major dislocated thrust surface that forms a semi-continuous east–northeast mineralized trend extending over approximately five kilometres. Deposits are localized near the hinge of a principal west-plunging synform, with mineralized zones dipping north to northwest, broadly parallel to stratigraphy.

More About Matango Gold Project

Gold occurs in native form, commonly associated with pyrite and pyrrhotite, and is structurally focused within fractures following the bedding of Banded Iron Formation (BIF) units. Importantly, more recent geological reinterpretation indicates that mineralization may persist along strike from BIF into adjacent pyroclastic volcanic sequences—opening new exploration vectors beyond historically targeted horizons. This evolving structural–lithological model significantly expands the prospective footprint of the Matango–Kerende corridor, supporting a modern exploration strategy focused on:

Collectively, Matango and Kerende form a coherent, district-scale opportunity, providing Kerende Gold with a strengthened geological canvas for disciplined, technology-led exploration and staged resource growth.
